Saddle STARS
Questions about
school programs?
Most children dream about reaching for the stars. TEC brings that goal a bit closer through the Saddle STARS school program. The program was originally designed in collaboration with Berrien County’s Regional Education Service Agency (RESA) to serve their students with cognitive disabilities at Blossomland Learning Center but has since reached out to other educational locations.
Saddle STARS supports the learning activities of Blossomland’s positive behavior program – Safety, Teamwork, Attitude, and Respect equals Success. The program is a combination of in-school, equine-related learning and a Day at the Farm (TEC barn) where they walk through a four-part session that includes an art/craft project, cleaning the stalls, grooming the horses, and a therapeutic riding lesson.
“Saddle STARS has taught my students responsibility for self and others, teamwork, and more importantly gave them the confidence to try new experiences and expand their word.” – Teacher, Jenny M.
